My Art

Irit's paintings are expressive and vibrant. She merges NYC expressionism, architectural details and city life into abstract manifestations. Her painting's chaos is the chaos of modern urban life. Some of her paintings display the feelings of lonliness, instability, rootlessness, and a Kafkaesque absuridity of life. Others, painted outside the city, show the bright colors, pleasant tones, and milder subjects that portray the realease from oppressive urban existance. Her urban paintings don't describe relaxation or mellow surrealism, but show her life and feelings living in the oprrresive metropolis. Her bright colors and turmulant stroke are the New York life she lives.
