A Vision For Peace In The Middle East
|
|
|
This
Plan had been endorsed by several notable Palestinians,
among them Dr. Mohammed Mehdi, the former Secretary General of the Action Committee
on Arab-American Relations, which was an Arab political-lobby
group headquarter in New
York.
It was also endorsed by Yitzchak Findrus
who is the current Mayor of Beitar-Illit,
Israel.
We
believe that the road to peace in the Middle East is by mutual recognition of the right of equality and coexistence.
The Palestinians’ right to return to their land must
be recognized. The coexistence of the Palestinians and
the Jews In Palestine is the
only path to peace in the area.
We
call upon the Israelis and world Jewry, and upon the
people of Palestine and the Arab world, to overlook the
mistakes and problems of the past and to direct their
attention solely to the establishment of a peaceful
Middle East of the future.
The basic problem in the Middle East at present is the Lack of cooperation, discussion, and negotiations between
the Israelis and the Palestinians, Jews and Arabs alike,
we propose the following:
- All present residents of the State
of Israel shall have the right to be full-scale citizens
of the State
- That all Palestinians throughout
the world shall have the right of return as full-scale
citizens. The Palestinians’ return should be gradual
and over a period of three to five years. Details
to be worked out.
- That all Jews throughout the world
wishing to immigrate to the State of Israel shall
have the right to do so and to become full scale citizens.
- Human needs and ability of the
State to absorb immigrants shall be the only ground
for immigration policy.
- Jews and Palestinians alike will
have the right to live in the State of Israel as full-scale
and co-equal citizens.
- All laws of the State shall apply
and non-discriminately, without specifying any preferences
in regard to religious sects or groups.
- All citizens residing in the State
shall have equal rights in voting and representation
in the new government; every citizen shall be free
to practice his religion and belong to associations
of his choice.
Let
the Palestinians have their state in Israel, I proposed. Let Israel in the future be a joint Jewish-Palestinian
nation, with the religious and cultural traditions of
each people preserved and protected by a common, non-secular,
political law.
This
is the beginning of Abe Hirschfeld Peace Treaty Plan;
This Park is on the border of the Jewish Jerusalem suburbs
and on the other side is all the Palestinian Communities.
This park will be open 24-hours a day and open to anybody
who lives in Israel
Palestinian and will bring peace and harmony like in
Tel Aviv Jaffa. This will bring the same harmony to Israel
Palestinian, and it can be accomplished in two weeks.
Abe Hirschfeld Aug 17 2003.
